Tholos Tomb III was discovered in 1939 at a distance of about 1 km southwest of the Palace of Nestor and seems to have been used from the 15th to the 13th century BC. The tomb was found fallen and the contents of the chamber completely disturbed. It is estimated that it would have contained at least 16 burials. Although the tomb was looted it contained many notable finds, including gold jewellery, a seal stone, beads and other small objects made of faience and glasspaste, parts of utensils and objects made of ivory, as well as a Canaanite amphora from the Middle East.
